Ah, Tuan Guru Ustaz Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri

Ustaz Zullkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri, PhD.

During midday when I was busy observing my practicum student at SMK Setia Wangsa, Kuala Lipis, Pahang,  I miss a call from the honourable Ustaz Zul ( he was a senior lecturer and my colleague at Kolej UNITI 1997 – 2005 ).  Voila…knowing his style ( a little. bit..),  I acknowledge there’s must be a hot news he wanted to break or he may be travelling north and passing Tanjong Malim in that process, and well enough he did give me a call or two when that happened.  Therefore without hesitation I make a return call.

After exchanging salam and checking on mine and my family situation, Ustaz Zul declared that he is parting away with USIM. He had tendered his resignation letter, got it consented and will be free to go this coming July.

I wonder that we have been go in different direction… I’m struggling to climb the ladder in UPSI but Ustaz Zul had chose the opposite.  The position as a University lecturer which I regard very highly ( u know…PhD, Assoc. Prof., full Prof. so and so….) is not that significant..by Ustaz Zul’s standard…phewww…

IMHO, Ustaz Zul had seen that his out-of-USIM commitment  will always handicap his lecturer-career routines and as such will be unfair to his students and USIM at large. 

 Although I know several personnels out there who’re very active in giving speech/talk/ceramah here and there outside the campus but still clinging on to their university position (and wages of course ..) but Ustaz Zul definitely was at the different class vis-a-vis different mindset also.

Ustaz Zul’s dream to be free and moulding his own destiny will start in no time…
